Our Story

Like most good ideas the seed was planted in 2009 while sitting on a veranda knocking back a couple of local craft beers.

Roll on a few years then along came BUMBLE who has been revamped and transformed into a modern VW Pop top mobile bar that launched to Perth in April 2017. Bumble has had a few different owners and was originally rescued from a fella on gumtree. At the time she had to be towed home as she had a rusty skin condition and no clutch. After a lot of blood, sweat and tears to get her to a roadworthy state she was finally registered as a proud West Australian. After a few adventures exploring she then moved on to a young family who continued her camping trips. We then became the proud owners of Bumble and booked her straight in for the big chop. She has also had several different looks over the years starting as burnt orange to white then to green and now green and black in colour. It turns out she was called Bumble because after her paint job bees would commonly land and sit on her. Bumble even has her very own Facebook page.

While her visit to the chop shop was taking a little longer than promised we adventured out with the in-laws and built what’s known today as the Sue and Dickies Pallet Bars, Benjamin Barrel Bar and LED bar letters. We also added giant lawn games, equipment hire and catering.

We are a small family run business with over 30 years of hospitality experience. From working in 5 star hotels to pubs and then adventuring out to owning our own restaurant.

I have no doubt that our story will grow and grow over the coming years with plenty of parties to go to making more stories to tell along the way.

How big is Bumble?

Driving size of Bumble is 2.2m high x 1.8m wide x 4.4m long. This is the absolute minimum clearance size for driving through carports or garages. In party mode with the top popped and the bar open, Bumble is 3.6m high x 2.5m wide x 4.4m long.

What is included when I hire bumble?

Just about every thing! Twin bowl slushy machine with your choice of 2 flavours, High quality Polycarbonate drink ware, LCD TV screen with the ability to play photos or power point presentations, Up to 50kgs of ice, Keg fridge, iPod connectivity complete with subwoofer, Water station, 1x 150ltr Esky, cool LED lighting and 1 RSA bar member to serve all your lucky guest.

Do we supply the Alcohol

As Bumble does not carry a liquor license, we do not provide the alcohol for the function. This is the client’s responsibility, but this also gives you the flexibility to purchase your alcohol at discount prices from your favourite liquor store. (Some stores will even take back unopened cartons and give you a refund) This is one way to reduce your overall costs.

Can we have Keg Beer

Yep for sure Bumble comes with its own Kegerator, this can have either 1 x 50litre keg or 2 x 19litre home brew kegs.

Do we only do events in Perth?

Although we are based in Perth we are always on the move and will often be seen down in Margret river, Mandurah, Yanchep, Albany and where ever the road will take us. However if your event is further than 50km from Perth this will incur a small travel charge.

Does Bumble need power?

Yes Bumble will require 10 amps to power the lights, TV and fridge.

Does that mean if there is no power we cant have Bumble?

Nope Bumble comes complete with a generator we just need a heads up before we get to your event so we can bring the generator with us.

Where can I have a party?

You can have a party at your house, or at any other private venue we can even go to other function centre or restaurants.

Can we party in the Park?

You sure can but relevant licences will need to be supplied by your self from the local council and maybe Liquor licensing.

Do we need to hire anything else?

No nothing else is needed but if you do require extra stuff like ice buckets, eskies, pyramid heaters, wine barrels, jugs or bar tables let us know we always like to help out if we can. Check out our hire equipment page to view more items available for hire.
